Our Minor preparation began early in the year due to our involvement in the semi-final of the County Premier Minor League 2000.

This was the launching pad for the year's competitions. We trained regularly with the senior panel under the guidance of Timmy Murphy. We found the initiative to be very beneficial and the players responded in a positive fashion with good attendance. Mick Kilcoyne assisted with our championship build-up and gave expert and enthusiastic coaching at all training sessions.

We participated in the non-exam league winning one game and losing three games. We won two games in the County Premier League and lost three games. We played four challenge matches in preparation for our championship game against Glen Rovers. We were forced to play with an under strength side due to holiday commitments and injuries. The team did not play to its potential on the night and we were well beaten by a more lively and skilful Glen side
