Under 15 League

played at Na Piarsaigh Wednesday 3rd May.

Blackrock 2 --- 8 Na Piarsaigh 2 --- 11.

Playing against a stiff wind in the first half and missing four regulars meant Blackrock were always fighting a rearguard action in this recent league game. With Timmy Lynch in great form and Dave Coleman unbeatable in goal for Na Piarsaigh, it was no surprise that they were ahead 2 --- 7 to 1 --- 1 at half time. Shane Keane had blasted in aground shot for the Rockies goal and Eoin O'Farrell had collected a point.

However what followed in the second half was an outstanding fight back from the Rockies with Eoin O'Farrell giving inspired leadership from centre field. When Patrick Deasy's long range free wound up in the Na Piarsaigh net in the 20th minute it meant that scores were level at 2 - 7 each. Eoin O'Farrell then put the Rockies in the lead for the first time. Two brilliant saves by Dave Coleman from shots by David Healy and Shane Keane enabled Na Piarsaigh to steady the ship.

A free awarded to Na Piarsaigh resulted in level scores again, however Pat O'Rourke then converted three points in the run in to secure the win for the northsiders. Paul O'Brien, Ross O'Sullivan and James Heylin, along with Mark Ryan and Diarmuid McCurtain had fine games for the Rockies who were very unlucky to lose out in the final minutes.
