William Ahern Tournament 2002

The Blackrock under 11s emerged victorious in the William Ahern tournament held at Church Road on Saturday 26th October. Despite very bad weather conditions, the standard of hurling was superb. Blackrock defeated Carrigaline by just one point in a very hard-fought match in the first semi-final. In the second semi-final extra time was required between Douglas and Sarsfields, before Douglas finished very strongly to clinch victory.

The final played in a downpour produced some very good hurling, before Blackrock emerged victorious over Douglas who fought hard to the end.
