Mycro Helmets Indoor Hurling League Rules |
Mycro Helmets Indoor Hurling League. Aidan Lougheed and Brendan Cunningham will coordinate the running of the competition and ensure all matches begin on time etc. Just a few ground rules for the games themselves which last about 18 minutes allowing for a quick half time and the changeover. (1) Goalies can use any part of their body (in addition to the hurley) to block the ball. (2) Goals cannot be scored directly from puckouts. (3) Goals cannot be scored by intentionally kicking the ball. (4) Intentional palming, catching or heading the ball allows a free to the opposition. (5) A maximum advantage of four goals will be given for a win (to avoid a rout!) (6)While every effort will be made to have equal numbers on teams, this may not always be possible. However, the players who turn up should be allowed to play unless the game is completely unbalanced. (Possibly the team with too few players should concede the game and an equal numbers challenge game with all available players should be initiated) Remember the emphasis is on giving the youngsters games. (7) A “sinbin” or “gowl gaff” will operate for a period of 5 minutes for anyone breaking the rules regularly. One verbal warning should be used but apply commonsense in its operation. (8) There will be no halftimes, the match will be played straight through for the 20mins Referees should act in a commonsense manner and simply make sure an accurate scoreline is kept. The intention would be to have the league table updated each weekend and on the website asap. Finally, please ensure the idle team members do not get up to mischief in or around St.Anthony’s School while waiting for other games to be completed. The very best of luck and have fun.
